Thank you for posting this. I found this very helpful as I am also a software engineer and am looking for a screen primarily for work/productivity and then for gaming (Baldurs Gate 3 i hope will look great!). I wonder if they fixed the lighting in gen2. I'll place an order once I'm back from vacations.

Wait, you said two 3090s in SLI? I thought SLI was a thing of the past an no longer possible.

next time if you do a video with this screen as your background you need to change hertz down to 120, the flickering is insane, great vid otherwise.

Spoiler Alert if you haven't played BG3. Had to come back here for a palate cleanser after Larian did Sarevok dirty in Baldur's Gate 3. It's a good game, apart from what happened with Viconia and Sarevok. At least Viconia had the same (or very similar) voice actor. A different voice actor would've been fine for another character, but not Sarevok, and the new one sounds not even remotely similar and reads his lines like he's talking through a box fan. No one beats Kevin Richardson. I'm just going to tell myself that BG3 'Sarevok' is a doppleganger and the real Sarevok went off with his remaining two siblings after Throne of Bhaal, being badasses together somewhere. "I shall be the last and you will go first!" That laugh! F**ing legend.

Took me a while to figure out the 8k cable included was woefully insufficient, disable sync on vblank, enable g-synce and crank up the full high quality def at 144 frames with a 16k DP 2.1 cable and I am most pleased with the results. Really rocks opengl full effects with just a GTX 2060 card.

I was able to preorder the second gen Ark today on Amazon.

3k display, 10€ Keyboard. Mess of cables too. too fancy for the setup you got.

Lets say you are playing diablo on pc and muti view with the youtube app, can you hear both sound from pc and youtube app or you can only hear one or the other?

I have the exact desk you do, but I have a question. I am looking at buying this monitor, which will fit, but would it be able to fit two in horizontal? I think its going to be to close even though it would be very immersive. Two in vertical mode may be an option. I also thought about doing one vertical and one horizontal. Thank you ahead of time.

They don’t make ‘em like this! This is some real shi right here. This whole backstory is insane and makes modern days movies games and shows look like a Sunday school program.

It's way better than EE cinematics, not only this but all of them. The Nashkell intro, with the mom and the girl arguing because she didn't wash her face before going "out to play" and then the evil kobold scouting the house... it's gone. When you first enter Baldur's city in the originals, you really feel like entering the city. Now you don't. In Cloackwood, there was a nice cinematic of some wyvern flying while holding a cow in his paws and a surprised commoner seeing the scene... The bandits camp intro was way better too, you felt the pain of the captured one... Now it's all gone. The charm is gone 😢.

I was always somewhat disappointed by how out of character the Enhanced Edition cutscenes were. I know they did what was possible at the time, but something like this would feel so much more appropriate to the rest of the games.

what distance do you sit away from the monitor? or better asking what are the measurements of your desk?do you recomend sitting a little bit far away? im asking cause im planning to use an oled 55" as a monitor and i should plan the desk ahead for it

I just wish this monitor was 55 inch with 5120x2880 resolution. 3840x2160 is definitely not enough.

For anyone considering the odyssey ark for anything else than gaming. Please pass. There’s a reason there aren’t more reviews on the monitor. Reading text will cause eye fatigue. The one I received went back 2 days after I purchased. When I would use it it would randomly have this micro led grid pattern that would appear and only way to get it to go away was to switch to the menu and back.

Hey Cardale, I’m hopefully getting my Ark soon. Currently it is shipping to me. How was the shipping experience you had? I live pretty far north in Alaska and it has been shipping for about two weeks now. It has traveled by plane, truck, and boat to get to me lol. Did you buy it directly from Samsung? I got mine for $1,599. So a steal in my opinion.

It’s crazy to think I stumbled upon this video after watching a Lego disc error meme, telling me to shove the disc up my ass. I saw this and idk what the graphics/visuals labels are but it’s super nostalgic. Like FF7, Lego Island, Baldur’s Gate… it’s cool man
